Wrong Victim

"So, who’s going to die today? Unless you give me the money now, both of you are dead."

Julie's bored facial expression didn't change as she picked at her nails with a pointed nail filer, her dark eyes concentrated on a sliver of dirt under her ring finger nail bed. She didn't bother to look up at the masked stranger pointing a gun at her, just a few inches away from her head. Years of conditioning had taught her how not to react, how not to move a muscle without intention.

"Move and give me your wallets or she gets it".

The moment the gun barrel shifted slightly to point at her younger sister, Julie's eyes shot up at the assailant and within moments she had her arms wrapped around his overweight, the nail filer protruding out of his bulging neck. This thief had picked the wrong target.
