If you don’t behave it’s the bed
As we silently watched from our quiet sleep
We never spoke of the things we don’t keep
Never repeat what you see or what you hear
Just act your age and we will always fear
Scarily stuff happens in the house and shed
With the strangers next door we will be dead
One silent phone call will be done and it’s cool
Now we can get out and ...
The quiet night was awoken with bells, sirens, alarms and time to go
Our job is to get to the blaze of fire, saving people’s lives I know
Driving our ladder trucks, and racing safely to the place of flame
Screaming was heard from inside, this inferno who’s to blame
Luckily there was only one person, who I got out very safe and sound
He was injured but alive and yelling, get me back to the ground...
The dark sky didn’t help me, with my day of fish
My stomach rumbling, and hungry for a dish
Nothing swimming or diving, around my empty pole
Whoever said that night fishing, can fall in a hole
As my tired eyes tried to hopefully, stay a little awake
Dreaming of fresh fish to catch, and cook and bake
Suddenly above my tired head, a white flash I saw

Through piles and piles of letters, pics, some make me queasy
We are all out there finding our consistent, place in our heart
I’m ready to give up after three months, I’m broken apart

It’s been pure darkness, all year and we haven’t seen the way

The long closed supermarket, and country stores are empty now
No where to buy anything to eat or drink, no milk from even a cow

Laughing and running through the pile of leaves
Getting them all stuck on your jacket sleeves
Watching the little plant grow on Earth’s special day
Mother Nature happy and healthy has her own way

Feeling the chill underneath the layers of hood
Goosebumps cover my tanned skin, it could
Trying to stay warm next to the roaring fire
Still cold no heat anywhere logs for hire
Boiler is always broken and no oil in the can
