As I push the brown hair up out of his face and look into his gorgeous hazel-green eyes I know where I am. I take a deep breath in and out never breaking the eye contact. It’s like something I can’t explain. He’s perfect.

I smile wide. “What?” He chuckles.

“Nothing.” I smile again.

I sat there in that moment for a long time. Soaking it up. Knowing that he really does love me. Knowing that I really do love him. Knowing that this is where I always want to be.

I break the eye contact long enough to scoot in closer and lay my head on his chest. His heartbeat quickens and he tilts his head down to look at me. He kisses my forehead and says, “How did I ever get so lucky?”

I smiled wide. “I was just wondering the same thing.” I relaxed and just laid there a moment before remembering. “OH! I almost forgot! Here. I know it’s kind of cringy but I feel like I want to give this to you now. It was going to be my wedding vows, but, I think it’s perfect for now.” I smile up at him as he unfolds the small piece of paper. Anxiety fills my mind but also excitement. I hope he doesn’t think it’s weird or something.

“I promise to love you, and cherish you til death do us part, to always have God and you inside of my heart,

I promise to trust you, and help you in any way, until I reach my very last day,

Because no matter where life takes you and me, we’ll have each other, the only sure thing,

No matter how afraid or how tough things get, I’ll be there for every last little bit,

And when skies get darker and I’m feeling alone, I know in your arms is where I found my home.”

He smiled wide and tears filled my eyes. “Baby are you crying?” He said as water collects in his eyes.

“No.” I laugh. “I just- I never thought I’d ever find anyone nearly as perfect and kind as you! Never find anyone who loves Jesus like we do!”

“I love you. C’mere” he pulls me into a tight hug.

“I love you too!”
